The Lufthansa Group is dedicated to shaping a sustainable future for aviation. By 2030 they aim to halve their net CO₂ emissions (compared to 2019) and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.  As part of this effort, they will introduce over 200 new, more sustainable aircraft into service by 2030 – these reduce fuel consumption and thus CO₂-emissions by up to 30 percent compared to their predecessors on every flight.

Lufthansa Group are pioneers in the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). Compared to fossil fuels, SAF reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 80%. Customers can purchase SAF or opt for Green Fares, a more sustainable fare option.
