Meet the Diversity Travel team: Sara Morys-Edge

This month’s sixty seconds is with our new Recruitment Business Partner, Sara. She’s recently joined the Diversity Travel team and talks us through what her role involves and what she loves most about working in travel…

What does your job involve?

The key aspect of my role is to co-ordinate all recruitment activity at Diversity Travel. It’s my job to find and attract the right candidates for live roles across the business, using my network and social media to search for candidates, as well as building relationships with recruitment agencies and online job boards to attract great candidates too. I review applications, screen, test and interview candidates, and support the hiring managers in the whole selection process.

What are you working on at the moment?

With only joining the team a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been spending time with key members of each department to gain an insight into the different team functions and environments. I’m currently working with Operations, Sales, Finance and I.T. in order to find some great candidates to join their teams.

What do you enjoy most about working in travel?

The people. I’ve worked in the travel industry my whole working life and love that as an industry it’s full of people who are genuine, professional and really service driven. The travel industry is constantly changing and evolving, but the great people it attracts never changes.

What is the best destination you have travelled to?

I can’t give you one! I feel very lucky that the roles I’ve had over the years have allowed me to travel to many different countries around the world. At the moment I’m trying to tick of as many European cities as possible and have just got back from a fantastic week in Barcelona. I also have a real soft spot for cities by water, so Boston and Vancouver are definitely up there too.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take three things, what would they be?

As we’re still in the depths of winter as far as the weather is concerned, I’m going to look at this positively as more of a mini break! So, it would have to be a comfy sun lounger, a cool jug of Pimm’s and a great book!
