Strikes announced at multiple German airports
'Massive disruption' expected at seven airports across Germany, as the Verdi union announces strikes.
The German labour union, Verdi, has called on workers at 7 of the countries airports to go on strike on Friday, 17th February, to press demands for an inflation busting pay rise.
The walkout, confirmed on Wednesday, will see workers strike from 7 major airports across the country. The airports affected are Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Dortmund, Hannover and Bremen.
The union has warned that the industrial action will result in major delays and cancellations at German airports, but has said that it announce the strike 2 days ahead of time to give travellers a chance to make alternative arrangements.
The stirkes follow previous industial action in January at airports in Berlin and Dusseldorf, where over 300 flights were affected.
